Schneewalzer is an eight episode, one-hour drama series - The series is a homage to the wild 80s in Tyrolean tourism. The time when tourism was the business of ski instructors and folk dancers, the next lift support location was bought over a game of cards at the regulars' table and the mayor was not only a despot but also a marksman and fire brigade commander. A time when the mountains of Tyrol were an impenetrable spiritual wall and Madonna's hairstyle was also the order of the day for men.
Logline
In the glittering and decadent 1980s Austrian Alps, a desperate young woman turns to dealing cocaine to save her family’s failing farm. As the powdery white gold transforms the exclusive resort into a chaotic battlefield of addicted tourists and corrupt officials, she must outsmart a ruthless tourism tycoon to build her empire in the snow.
