Schneewalzer is an eight episode, one-hour drama series - The series is a homage to the wild 80s in Tyrolean tourism. The time when tourism was the business of ski instructors and folk dancers, the next lift support location was bought over a game of cards at the regulars' table and the mayor was not only a despot but also a marksman and fire brigade commander. A time when the mountains of Tyrol were an impenetrable spiritual wall and Madonna's hairstyle was also the order of the day for men.
Logline
In a conservative Tirolean town, during the golden age of Austrian skiing, a struggling farmer’s daughter discovers a unique way to cash in on her town’s tourist boom – selling cocaine to the partymad tourists. But her new business soon places her in the crosshairs of the town’s powerful tourist baron, who’s willing to protect his empire at any cost.
